Varg Vikernes to Introduce Signature Line of Hot Sauces

Feb 10th at 3PM / 5 notes

Notorious black metal musician, Varg Vikernes aka “Count Grishnackh” who just finished a 16 year prison sentence in 2009 for murdering a bandmate and burning several churches in his native Norway is playing with fire of a different sort, via a line of “brutal” hot sauces.

“When I was in prison, I worked in the kitchen; I had no access to musical instruments at first, so I quickly found that I needed a new outlet for my rage.  I put all my blackest hatred of humanity into a pineapple marinade that just brutalized the senses.  It is my wish to spread my hatred and deliciousness across the fetid lands of the world.”

Vikernes has named his initial sauce offerings after Germanic gods, such as “Wotan”,  “Baldr”, “Odin”, and “Loki”

“Each one these sauces is the most extreme, and genetically pure sauces I could create,” says Vikernes.  “I excommunicate myself from all hot sauces before.  They are dead to me.”

The buzz for the sauces in the culinary world is very good.  Hans Holzmann, from “Sauce Digest Magazine” gave “Wotan”, “9 ½ Little Sauce Bottles” and said that it made former Van Halen bassist, Michael Anthony’s signature sauce  “Mad Anthony”, taste “like a goat’s asshole”

Vikernes’s sauces will make their public debut at the Oslo Food Expo on March 4-6.  He will be signing bottles the whole weekend at booth B-22 and will participate in a Q & A panel, entitled “Keeping Things Spicy in the Kitchen” along with Guy Fieri in the Crescent Room on the 5th at 12pm.
